Aims and scope of INQUIRY

In addition to providing a concise update on INUK and innocence project activities, the aim of INQUIRY is to provide an opportunity for academics, students, lawyers and other experts to communicate on innocence project work and wrongful convictions related issues to a wider range of audiences.

INQUIRY covers a wide range of topics relating to wrongful convictions and innocence project work including (but not limited to) articles on evidence, forensic science, criminal and appeals procedure, prison and parole issue, human rights, pro bono and clinical legal education.

INQUIRY is published four times a year, in spring, summer, autumn and winter. It is available as a free-to-download PDF this website. INQUIRY will also be circulated to all INUK university members, students, supporters, patrons and innocence project colleagues internationally.

Content

INQUIRY welcomes submissions for any of the following categories:

1) Feature Articles (around 2,000 words)
2) Reviews of books, articles or films on the subject of wrongful convictions and/or innocence projects (around 500 words)
3) Innocence Project News (limited to INUK member universities only)
4) Research Updates from Innocence Project Colleagues (limited to academics from INUK member universities only)
5) Student Articles (limited to students from INUKmember universities only)

Schedule for 2013

Summer Issue

The deadline for submissions is Monday 15 April 2013.
Publication Date: Monday 27 May 2013.

Autumn Issue

The deadline for submissions is Monday 19 August 2013.
Publication Date: Monday 16 September 2013.

Winter Issue

The deadline for submissions is Monday 2 December 2013.
Publication Date: Monday 16 December 2013.

Instructions

All submissions and expressions of interest should be sent by e-mail to the editors with INQUIRY in the subject line to: innocence-network@bristol.ac.uk

All student submissions should be from member innocence projects and submitted via the staff director when s/he is satisfied with the quality of the article. Any articles submitted by students directly to INUK will not be considered for publication.

Advertising Opportunities

INQUIRY will carry a limited amount of advertising for law firms and law schools for the following:

- Recruitment of students for undergraduate/postgraduate/vocational programmes
- Recruitment of trainees
- Events/conferences
